Meet Donald. He just about stole my heart at his newborn session. I’ve been photographing this little guy’s family since I did newborn photos for his big sis. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, watching families grow, whether it’s adding in new members or the kids growing up, is what gives me the most satisfaction and inspiration to keep doing this photography thing.

Donald’s mom has a knack for picking out the best things for her newborn sessions! This adorable knit hat and pant set was a special purchase she made to use just for the little guy’s session. I think it worked out perfect, don’t you?

I had the honor of joining this sweet family the day after little Evan’s birth to do some in-hospital Fresh 48 photos. For those of you who don’t know, a Fresh 48 session is done while mom and baby are still in the hospital. I absolutely love doing these sessions. There is nothing more joyful than the birth of a new baby. I love getting to be a part of that with a family. You know what else I love? If you guessed newborn babies, than ding ding! It’s true, anyone who knows me knows I love the newborn baby stage.

I was invited to photographer sweet Evan at Mercy Hospital on a quiet afternoon before his two big sisters came to love on him. It was a super sweet time for mom and dad to spend together with their newest little one.

If you’re thinking about a Fresh 48 session for your upcoming arrival, DO IT! You never regret the pictures you take, only the ones you don’t. Contact me for pricing and more information.

Introducing Madelene! This gorgeous girl had her newborn session with me in December, just before the holidays madness set it. I absolutely loved getting to meet her and her amazing family. Big bro (sorry folks, not sharing the sibling photos this time) was incredibly kind and sweet to his new little sister. We started the session with the sibling photos, and after dad and big bro went out shopping while I got to spend a few hours snuggling and photographing this beauty.

Mom was too picky about colors for the session but did ask for “maybe a sage or green”…um, yes please! I love to use soft colors and had the perfect sage green wraps and accessories to incorporate. Of course, I snuck in some very soft pinks too. 😉

Oh to be young again! When I was a senior in high school senior photos consisted of going to a studio, and taking some uber boring shots that may or may not include you leaning on a ladder or sitting next to a “class of XXX” sign. Thankfully, somewhere in the last 30 years these high schoolers (and their parents!) have gotten a lot hipper and senior photos are now more gorgeous than ever. Take this amazing young lady, Emily…she is simply stunning, and smart. Oh my gosh is she smart! And creative, I follow her on Instagram  because, well, her #instapics are amazeballs. Emily was referred to my by her cousin, who’s family I’ve photographed for a few years now, and we met for this beautiful senior session at Faust Park one evening.

Senior sessions aren’t something I normally do (but you already knew that cause you like to come here and look at all the cute babies), but…OMG. I LOVE doing senior sessions! Emily was so easy going, and was a straight pro at looking gorgeous. Emily exuded a boho, chic, too cool for you vibe and she rocks the smoldering stare. Here are a few of my faves from her session. Enjoy!

If you are interested in booking a session for your soon to be senior, give me a holler because I am itching to get my hands on more of these amazing young people about to take on the world!
